UniFi Protect takes a fundamentally different architectural approach:

• All 4K video streams are recorded directly to local encrypted RAID hard drives housed in the on-premise rack.
• Footage never leaves the venue without permission, eliminating bandwidth congestion over the main internet link.
• If internet connectivity drops during an electrical storm, recording continues seamlessly without a single frame of dropped footage.

2. Hardened POS Network Isolation

A busy restaurant environment contains dozens of wireless endpoints: guest smartphones, host tablets, manager laptops, staff handheld POS terminals, and kitchen display systems (KDS).

Mixing guest traffic with payment processing is a severe security vulnerability. Using UniFi Gateway and Pro Max managed switches, we isolate every system into strict VLANs:

3. Guest Captive Portal VLAN: High-density Wi-Fi 6/7 coverage for diners with rate limiting and complete device isolation.

3. Physical Cleanliness & Etherlighting

A tangled rat’s nest of cables in a basement or office closet invites disaster when a cable is accidentally dislodged during service.
